Lone Pine Outdoor Services is a licensed and insured tree service based in Inwood, West Virginia. Lone Pine provides tree removal, stump grinding, brush removal, tree trimming and pruning, and land clearing to homeowners across Berkeley and Jefferson counties and into Frederick County, Virginia. It is a family-owned, father-and-son operation.

Two generations, one saw

A Father and Son Out of the Indiana Woods

Growing up in the Indiana woods, we learned what a tree is going to do before it does it — which way it leans, where it wants to fall, what it does when the wind gets into it. It’s not something you pick up from a manual. You get it from years around trees, watching how they behave. We brought that with us to West Virginia and built Lone Pine Outdoor Services around it. When we walk your property, we’re reading the same things we’ve read our whole lives.

Stump grinding comes three ways depending on what you want the spot to look like afterward. We grind it and go, grind it and haul the mulch off, or grind it, seed it, and cover it with straw so the grass fills back in.

Tree Removal

Some trees you can live with, and some you can’t. A dead trunk near the house, a split leader after a windstorm, roots lifting the walkway — those are the ones that keep you up when the forecast turns. We take the tree down piece by piece where it needs to come down safely, and haul it off.

Stump Grinding

After a tree comes out, the stump is what’s left to trip over and mow around. We grind it three ways depending on what you want the spot to become: ground down and left, ground and the mulch hauled off, or ground, seeded, and covered with straw so you’d never know a tree stood there.

Brush Removal

Brush piles up faster than you’d think — after a storm, after a clearing, after a season of letting the edge of the yard go. We haul it all out so you’re not staring at a heap through the window or waiting on a burn day that never comes.

Tree Trimming & Pruning

A limb hanging over the driveway, branches rubbing the siding, a canopy so thick nothing grows under it — trimming keeps a healthy tree healthy and keeps the wrong branch from ending up on your car. We shape it to keep it safe and secure.

Land Clearing

Whether you’re putting up an outbuilding, opening a pasture, or reclaiming ground the woods took back, land clearing gives you a usable lot. We take out the trees, the brush, and the tangle, and leave you room to work with.
